Tuna Steak

One of my new found favorite dinners is Tuna steak – not always the cheapest meal but always delicious. After spending way too much of our weekly grocery budget on these steaks (totally worth it) I found this recipe on the blog Your Lighter Side.

  • 2 tuna steaks
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 cup virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 Tbsp red wine vinegar (didn’t have white wine as the recipe suggest but this worked just fine)
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 stems fresh basil (strip leaves, toss stems)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

  • Mix all ingredients (besides the tuna)  in a food processor
  • Pour marinade over tuna and let sit for 1 hour then flip and let marinade for another hour

  • Sear tuna in pan on stove around 4 minutes per side and serve
